Yota

Yota (ヨタ) was a small young child from an unknown nameless clan with some mysterious powers of weather

manipulation.

Background

Naruto Shippuuden 315-054 — Yota when he was alive.

Yota was born on a unknown date into a poor walking traveling unknown named clan who could manipulate weather, and use their skills to make a living. Five years before the start of the series, Yota died at a young age of natural causes due to his frailty yet weak body. But he was later on reincarnated by Orochimaru as a test subject for or in his research on Impure World Reincarnation.

Sent to Konohagakure on Orochimaru's own command, Yota first met Akimichi Choji, Nara Shikamaru, and Yamanaka Ino when they all came looking for Choji's kunai set, in which after being thrown in the air it had pinned Yota to a very high tree. The crying Yota caused a downpour that ultimately collapsed the tree, and had freed him. Soon afterwards, Yota happily introduced himself to the young Konoha children as they decided not to tell the adults about him as there was already huge tensions between Konohagakure, and the other village shinobi nations. They instead give Yota some shelter in a makeshift wooden tree house to live in and brought him food at a regular daily basis. Eventually, after meeting Inuzuka Kiba, his young dog Akamaru, and Haruno Sakura who he took a liking to, Yota even started acting bold from appearing in the village to playing a small bold flower prank on Uchiha Sasuke.

Around this time, Yota also met Uzumaki Naruto while he was whistling by himself and had became good friends with him while asking him to teach him how to whistle. However, despite having a good time with his new friends, things changed when Yota decided to hide with Naruto during a game of hide and seek one day. Mistaking Naruto for telling him to hide elsewhere as a sign of Naruto disliking him, Yota while crying ran off while causing his presence to be known to the Konoha ANBU as they had capture him for interrogation with Naruto and the others hatching a scheme to save Yota.

After saving Yota, the group reached a very steep river and tries to cross it. But Naruto, Shikamaru, and Choji were all washed away by the strong current only to be saved by Yota, who failed to resurface long after the incident. They later on find Yota seemingly on the verge of death as he gives the group his goodbyes while erasing their memories of him. Not wanting his friends to be put in danger once more, Yota leaves Konohagakure and lives out the remainder of his manipulation in complete loneliness before ending up under the thrall of Orochimaru's spy and right hand man, Yakushi Kabuto.

Personality

Yota was seen as a kind hearted, naive, carefree, and fun loving little boy. He would occasionally break out in singing about the weather and habitually nickname people based on their most knownable trait. For example he gave Sakura the nickname "forehead", and called Choji "fat" until he told Yota to just call him chubby instead. He was also very sensitive, easily to become sad, and would ultimately break out in tears. He also appeared to have a very big appetite for food.

Appearance

Yota was a small and skinny young boy with light brown tan skin, and a constant blush. He had spiky waist length, brown hair with short bangs hanging over his eyes and chin length strands framing both sides of his face. He had green eyes with no pupils. He also had a wide smile with pronounced canines and thin eyebrows. He wore a dull green robe with a dull brown cloak, wooden geta, and bandages on his head and wrists, with a purple twisted headband on his forehead.

Later on, while being under the effects of the Impure World Reincarnation, he obtained grey sclerae. When he was alive, his eyes were white with big green pupils. Also when he was alive he hold a sign that said Weather for sale, and when he died on his death bed he had a white wet wash cloth on his forehead.

Abilities

Weather Manipulation

While born very frail and having an innocent nature, Yota possessed the unusual ability to manipulate the weather. A natural power of his clan, Yota was acknowledged by his clan members especially for having great control over manipulating the weather compared to all of them. His abilities were so great enough that he was chosen to use the Impure World Reincarnation on as a test subject, and later on as a war weapon by Orochimaru and Kabuto Yakushi respectively.

Regardless of the natural atmosphere he was in, he could manifest great winds, rain, lightning, and so on to suit his need. He could also produce powerful water trenches to block enemy attacks or pin them down, condensed bubbles to strike targets, and even direct his lightning. His powers also seemed to be directly linked to his current emotional nature. His rain also appeared able to drain people's chakra. When whistling, Yota can also produce powerful gusts of wind, which can be focused into slicing blades and strong twisters.

Other Skills

Yota also possesses other unique abilities such as the ability to manipulate the memories of his targets and the ability to telepathically contact, and connect the minds of, those he chooses much like the Mind Body Transmission Technique. While submerged, Yota has demonstrated the ability to manipulate the water surrounding him to force his targets away from him, or increase his speed within it. Yota has also showed to be very nimble, by easily dodging a young Choji's attack after calling him "fat".

Naruto Shippuuden (Part II)

Fourth Shinobi War arc

Naruto and yota first friend — Yota reunites with Naruto.

Among the reincarnated ninja under Kabuto's control, Yota is deployed during the second day of the war when a faction of the White Zetsu Army attack. At that time, three of the White Zetsu clones assume Yota's form and target the friends that he had made in Konoha: one confronting Team Asuma with powerful rain storms, another is taken to the Allied Shinobi Forces' medical camps where Haruno Sakura is before producing snow that develops into an intense snowstorm, and the third assaulting Inuzuka Kiba and Akamaru with lightning bolts. In the process, the Konoha ninja begin to remember Yota.

Sensing the weather changes, Uzumaki Naruto runs into the real Yota as the child attacks him with sharp gusts of wind. Having to concluded that the other Yotas are White Zetsu in disguise, Naruto tells the others to deal with the fakes as he faces Yota. However Yota talks telepathy to tell his friends about his origins, and final words. Including that they don't need to feel guilty. With this, Yota uses his own technique against himself while happily declaring that he found friends despite being dead. After he uses his technique on himself, this shocks Naruto, and the others.

Uzumaki Naruto

When Uzumaki Naruto was still in the Ninja Academy, he was confronted by Shikamaru, Choji, Sakura and Ino. They accused him of making a boy name Yota disappear. Naruto saw that Shikamru and the others have the same eyes, that the villagers stare at him with. Naruto asked them how could they like an outsider over him, and runs off. Soon he gets lost, and meets a boy crying. The young boy starts to make it rain on him. Making Naruto be impress by this while sitting at a tree. He comments that he can't even do the Kage Bunshin no Technique, or the Transformation Technique since he had enroll in the Ninja Academy. Naruto then realize that the boy was Yota. Naruto then starts to whistle, and Yota asks him to teach him. At first Yota was angry when Naruto refuses to teach him. After Yota unleashed a snake Naruto gives in on the request. While sitting down Naruto does whistle for him, and Yota masters it in one day. Naruto sees how happy Yota is, and Yota calls Naruto his F-R-I-E-N-D while doing it in whistle. Naruto is surprise, and secretily happy by this.

Then when he and the others play hide and seek. Yota wants to hide with him, but tells him to hide someone where else. Yota then crys, and runs off. When the game is over, Naruto and the others notice that Yota is gone. They find Yota capture by the Konoha ANBU. Naruto and the others protest that Yota is their friend, and to let him go. But the ANBU doesn't let Yota go, and places the kids under house arrest. Naruto, and the others came up with a plan to free Yota. Naruto acts as a diversion, while the others found Yota and the ANBU. Naruto tells the ANBU that Yota is his first real friend. Then the Anbu hits Naruto behind his back, and Yota knocks all the ANBU's out with his lighting technique. Naruto and the others escape with Yota near a river. They try to swim though it, but they almost drown. Yota safes Naruto, and fails to resurface.

Seeing that Naruto is suffering, Yota decides erases his memory of him. Before Yota does erase Naruto's memory of him, Naruto tells Yota that he is sorry. Then Yota erase Naruto's memory of him forever. Naruto reveals that it's his, and his friends fault that they let Yota died. After Yota erased Naruto's memory of him, Naruto resumed his days at the Ninja Academy as usual. In this case, still being alone and disliked by his classmates.

Naruto then reunites with Yota during the Fourth Shinobi War. At first Naruto doesn't remember him. Until Yota starts whistling a happy tone, and uses wind techniques to jog Naruto's memory. Naruto then remembers Yota, and the others inform him that they are fighting Yota as well. Naruto realizes that he is fighting the real Yota, then he tells Sakura and the others that the Yotas that they are fighting are White Zetsu Clones. The others kill the White Zetsu clones, while Naruto fights Yota. Naruto and the others hear Yota in their minds. Yota tells everyone that he is happy that they had all grown up well without him. Naruto tells Yota that he can come back to Konoha now, and that everything will be like it use to be. Naruto is told by Yota, that he can't return to Konoha because he was already dead to began with. Yota tells Naruto including the others, about his heritage, and clan. Naruto is told by Yota that even though he was dead, he was really happy to become friends with him, and the others. Naruto and the others is told by Yota to fully remember him for now on, and Naruto watches in horror as Yota uses his own technique to commit Suicide. This shocks Naruto, and the others overall.
